We have  a chain of seven charity shops so please support them by taking in your unwanted items and, just as importantly, go there to buy clothes, books, DVD’s and a wide range of bric-a-brac.

If you have any items for the shops and are unable to bring them in yourself please contact us and we will arrange collection.

Charity shops are a great way to reduce, re-use and recycle. Get a bargain from us, look great too, help the environment, and support our plans for a local hospice.

March yourself up to the top of Market Hill, to find our  trendy newly refurbished charity shop. Housed in the old hairdressers the new-look shop has been organised into easy to browse sections. Being the smallest of all ECH’s shops, each item lining the shelves and rails has been specially selected to preserve the boutique feel of the shop. The shops new motto is even “boutique look but not the price!” (Though no donation goes to waste; it gets recycled or transferred to one of the other 6 ECH Shops if not suitably boutique!) One customer even commented on the refurbishment saying that “Mary Portas would be proud”!

The new-look shop on London Road South in Lowestoft has been organised into easy to browse sections. The volunteer-run shop sells everything you would expect to find in a charity shop: women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing, shoes, bric-a-brac, books, CD’s and DVD’s, and jewellery at the permanently low price of £1 or less. You may even find some designer items within the rails, so head down to London Road South to bag yourself a bargain! (Donations taken to this shop will be distributed between all 7 ECH shops to be sold at the appropriate price.)

New Manager for our Bungay Shop

ECH is pleased to announce that Mark has begun his role as new Shop Manager at our Bungay store (48 St Mary’s Street, NR35 1AY 01986 892488). Mark has a few changes planned so keep an eye on what he is up to in the shop, (we’ve seen him buying paint!!)

As always we welcome donations and Mark welcomes all the usual items, clothes, bric-a-brac, books, DVD’s etc along with quality pieces of furniture…we can arrange collection of furniture so give the shop a call for more information.
Mark is looking forward to meeting customers old and new so pop in and say ‘Hello’

Marie Walsh and Brian Challis  have written the following words about their  experience of volunteering for ECH.

“I started volunteering at the ECH shop in London Road North Lowestoft when it opened in 2011. I had never worked in retail before but the manager Linda was very supportive in helping me learn all aspects of running the shop. Volunteering gives me something worthwhile to do , helping others and raising funds to help build the hospice. When I go home at the end of the day I feel satisfaction knowing that I have helped others and am contributing something to the community for the future.”     Marie Walsh September 9th 2013

“Volunteering at East Coast Hospice gives you somthing to do and its helping others. Meeting new people and learning new skills in a relaxed enviroment is fun , every day is different with always something to do.”    Brian Challis  September 9th 2013
